I was unconcious. I liked how they framed the movie with the grandpa reading it to the boy. as a younger boy myself i was picky about the movies i watched... i wasn't into sports but i only cared about action and fighting, etc. so it's perfect; you have this little part at the beginning that keeps those little boys watching a little longer instead of leaving because it's a girl movie. it worked on me lol. One thing I neglected to mention in my earlier comment is this: The IMDB allows easy lookup of each actor's filmography and an easy cross-check of the IMDB user ratings for those films. If you check the filmography of each actor credited for The Princess Bride and click on "Sorted by Ratings" you'll see that this film is rated either #1 or #2 for ALL BUT ONE of its actors. In other words, this film is populated almost entirely with people who did some of their best work in it.

Sorry I ship it. The princess bride ending. Quite possibly my most favorite movie of all time. It may not be polished or serious enough for most critics, but it does best what movies are supposed to do. It entertains, makes you want to fall in love, and most importantly, it makes you glad you're alive. The "As you wish" line alone should have secured the movie a place in any "Best movies of the century" list. The princess bride honest trailer.
